12 November 2009 GsmServer introduced Octopus box, a new service solution for LG phones, including Softbank handsets and A2 based models. Aside from flash and unlock functions, Octopus offers language pack editing, a friendly interface, a high-speed box update process and many other useful features.

“Octopus incorporates all supported models in a single interface, which allows you to work with them without any additional downloads,” says one of Octopus box developers. “With Octopus’ ergonomic user-friendly interface you can easily flash the desired LG model and convert flash files into .oct file for later use.”

According to another Octopus developer, “the box supports MTK-based phones like GB170, KM330 or KM335; Infineon-based models like GW520, GM310, KS660, GC900 or KM900; and QUALCOMM-based cell phones. For QUALCOMM, we have also implemented a language pack editor, and are working to add it for other LG platforms, too.”

Octopus is available from the www.gsmserver.com web store at $189 and includes: the box proper, a set of cables and 1 year free access to the product support zone at Boot-Loader v.2.0 – the new version of the largest web based repository of cell phone flash files.

One of GsmServer top managers commented: “By launching Octopus box and the new version of Boot-loader, we want to signal that GsmServer continuously offers high quality service and most required solutions for today’s dynamic market. We hope that Octopus will be as successful as other GsmServer products.”
